WE have learned that some supermarkets - despite their denials - have provisionally been found guilty by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) of colluding to keep the price of dairy goods artificially high, costing customers £270m on milk, cheese and butter (Echo, Sept 21).
Let us give a public thank you to Tesco, Morrisons, etc, for their care about us. No wonder Tesco butter went from 56p to 70p overnight.
Perhaps the OFT could now ban these stores from listing prices of other stores. One notice, I think, is all we need - "We are in collusion with our competitors and we are working together to con the public."
