MY husband and I moved to Canada from Billingham in 1971, but returned and enjoyed a great week in the town last week.
We flew via Flyglobespan from our local airport, Hamilton, and were both impressed with Newcastle Airport, which we found very userfriendly and one of the nicest we have been in.
We started each morning with The Northern Echo and enjoyed catching up on our local news.
We only have one complaint and that is when reporter Mike Chipchase talks about Billingham he adds "near Stockton". While I have to tell Canadians that Billingham is 36 miles south of Newcastle, I think people who read the Echo surely know where Billingham is. Cheers.
