IN reply to columnist Rob Merrick (Echo, Sept 13) and correspondent LD Wilson (HAS, Sept 20) previous Prime Minister Tony Blair promised the people of Britain a vote on the subject of the EU constitution/treaty.
At this time, I see Gordon Brown as a man of honour and expect him to continue with that promise and hold a referendum.
I believe there is a demand by the people to hold a referendum on the "New Treaty" and at a later date a referendum on our membership of the EU, which costs the citizens mega-millions every week.
The people of Britain are aware of what is going on in Brussels and are unhappy about it. They are seeking an input into the EU project that is effecting their daily lives and deserve a say on the constitution/treaty.
