RE Alan Benn's reply on the subject of Barnard Castle Band's non-appearance for a concert in Darlington's South Park (HAS, Sept 8).
I was awarding Darlington Borough Council a black mark for not having a standby when the band cancelled (for whatever reason).
To avoid disappointment in the future, I would suggest better planning is needed.
