TWO excellent letters (HAS, Oct 3) were written with passion and intellect by Billy Neilson and John Armstrong.
The new Auckland Tower is a must to visit, to admire the architecture and colour.
As for “Saint” Ruffer – if it was not for Mr Ruffer’s foresight to come into Bishop Auckland and organise the rescue of the Zurbaran paintings within Auckland Castle and all of the surrounding buildings, the Church Commissioners would have had them scattered around the globe.
All the very best wishes to The Auckland Project. Keep the Faith.
David Johnson, Bishop Auckland
