RE Hugh Pender's letter about the Princess Diana memorial service (HAS, Sept 10). Spot on.
The choir I am in is singing "I had a Dream" from Les Miserables.
It begins "I had a dream my life would be" and ends "Now life has killed the dream I dreamed". Every line is how Princess Diana may have thought.
May members of the Royal family never forget the part they played in this (apart from her two sons).
May her soul rest in peaceful slumber, but her memory live on.
Also when singing the song "Bring Him Home", I think of all the many servicemen across the world who are being killed daily - for what? Bring them home.
I will never forget Diana, and my heart goes out to all parents, wives, brothers, sisters and children of all those who gave their lives in vain.
Liz Richards, Darlington.
