MANY of us who live in and around Darlington do try to give our support to the town’s economy of and appreciate the efforts put in by shops and others to attract visitors to the town.

Special mention therefore must go to the pig farmers in the town’s outskirts whose efforts have excelled of recent weeks to waft the perfume of pig excrement throughout the town on the prevailing wind.

It almost brings tears to the eye on some days – you can almost cut it with a knife.
