THE Huntsman Corporation came to Teesside in 1999 pledging a longterm commitment to the area when it bought a big chunk of ICI in a blaze of local media publicity.

But after just eight years, Huntsman is selling off it's remaining interests (Echo, Jul 14).

I believe that the Huntsman Corporation has behaved like a venture capital group buying companies all over the world and spending some time and money on them to improve their performance then, after just a few years, selling them on for a quick profit.

The Huntsman family are devout Mormons and have plans to plough some of their proceeds from this latest sale into charity work.

Before they do that, I hope they will have paid back all the money that they have borrowed in recent years to finance their rapid expansion throughout the world.
