I AM writing to express the pleasure and pleasingly wide information I gain from reading The Northern Echo. One of these many regular topics is the Saturday appearance of At Your Service by Mike Amos.
Take the example of the last two columns: on the one hand destitution at Waskerley but not in faith and the loyalty of the few from the few; and on August 25, the ritual and reverence of St Helen Auckland - a splendid expression of the devotion of the few that lingers in the mind and gives us a determination to persist in our own commitment in the search for faith.
I wish that a book embraces all the church-related entries from Mr Amos' pen.
