I RECENTLY listened to the likes of radio presenters Keith Skues, Tom Edwards, Dave Cash, Johnnie Walker and Emperor Rosko on the internet, as well as my wi-fi internet radio.
The reason was that August 14 marked 40 years since The Marine Offences Act forced the closure of pirate radio stations around the country. The above mentioned were among those who broadcast from a station called Pirate BBC Essex from Thursday, August 9 until Tuesday, August 14.
The event was covered on the BBC, so I hope I was not alone in this part of the country to have enjoyed such an event.
