IT is very good news that the new law prohibiting smoking in all enclosed public places is meeting with close on 100 per cent compliance (Echo, Aug 4). The measures taken have been accepted and are having a beneficial effect.
This success is due in part to the natural aversion people of this country have to breaking the law. In addition to the health benefits, it is noticeable that pubs and clubs are now cleaner and fresher, making the new law most welcome.
