THERESA MAY’S recent stage-managed visit to Teesside to launch the re-development of a 4,500 acre area of redundant steelworks was an event the Tories wanted to keep to themselves (Echo, Aug 28).

This was shown by the decision not to invite Anna Turley (Labour) who represents Redcar. Ms Turley is rightly going to raise the issue in Parliament.

There was also a limit on the media on asking questions, thus avoiding awkward answers, even though there are many questions to answer, like who are these 60 companies who are interested in this site and when are we going to see the timescale involved?
