IT IS no surprise Sedgefield’s Phil Wilson was elected as Labour voters, like myself, who wanted a Labour govenment had no choice but to vote for candidates who, in my opinion, did more to prevent a total victory for Labour than the Tories.

Those candidates who were disloyal to leader Jeremy Corbyn showed a total disregard for the sentiments of party members and gave fuel to the media which put people off voting for Corbyn.

If Mr Wilson felt so strongly on this issue, he should have resigned and let a loyal candidate stand.
