AS I’ve always voted labour, I did so again this time, and Phil Wilson is worth another few years in office. He is a popular figure who does a lot for the Sedgefield district and business in the area.
I would like to ask him, through your great paper, if he could do something about how our grass is cut in Newton Aycliffe.
Two-thirds is cut quite regularly and looks nice but the rest is cut by a contractor when about eight inches high. Often it is cut in the rain, so the blades leave quite a lot uncut, and there is grass all over the place left to decompose.
I remember as a child the council cut the grass and raked it up also. Happy days... No money then, of course – a bit like now.
Name supplied, Newton Aycliffe
