I SEE that Israeli basil has been withdrawn at a number of supermarkets as it was found to be contaminated with salmonella.
There are many other good reasons not to buy any Israeli goods.
Israel grows produce on stolen Palestinian land; it destroys Palestinian lives, livelihoods and homes on a daily basis; it builds illegal settlements on stolen land and operates a racist, apartheid system.
Fifty nine years ago Israel expelled most of the Palestinian population from Palestine and still refuses to allow refugees the right to return home. Forty years ago Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza and continues its policy of colonisation and terror.
It is time to say "enough", and use our power as consumers to force Israel to abide by international law and help the Palestinian people in their struggle for justice and peace. I encourage all readers to boycott all Israeli goods.
