HERE we go again. A 50 per cent increase in on-street parking charges planned for Durham City.
Ok, ok, park-and-ride I hear the council screaming. Well not when it isn't in the direction that I enter the city - from Shincliffe.
I would have to drive further to park and add to this the fact that I start work at 7am and the bus doesn't leave until then. It all adds up to yet another pay cut. Hit the motorist again.
Well, I would like to register my objection to this increase on behalf of the staff at the Prescription Pricing Authority in Durham City whose recent dismal pay offer (which was rejected, I may add) would hardly cover the increased costs.
Where is this money going? We are easy pickings and I for one would like to say we are all sick to the back teeth with it all.
Mrs Mandy Egglestone, Coxhoe, Durham.
