I LIVE in the Crook South Ward of Wear Valley District Council (which was contested by one BNP, three Liberal Democrat and three Labour candidates at the May 3 local elections). Not one election leaflet was left at my house. No prospective candidate called.
At about 6pm on the day of the election I noticed a car go past with a Liberal Democrat banner in its window. I would not expect the BNP candidate to cover all the area on his own, but the others had three candidates each. Maybe they spent their time canvassing the new private estates and thought the old voters would keep them in. I live on a council estate.
I did vote, but not for Labour or Liberal Democrat.
Mrs Sylvia Anderson, Crook, Co Durham.
