A RECENT contributor to Hear All Sides wrote in response to an article by columnist Peter Mullen that he was waiting with baited breath for a possible outcome to the article concerned.

In Friday's edition of The Northern Echo a snippet on the front page informed us that "the country was last night waiting with baited breath to see the verdict it had delivered on the last days of Tony Blair's reign as Prime Minister".

Could you please let me know, with what do people bait their breath?

I await your reply with, dare I say it, bated breath.
