I FOUND Chris Wardell’s letter about ancient astronauts (HAS, Nov 18) very interesting.
People believe many things. Some believe in astrology, ancient astronauts, Government and alien conspiracies, faked moon landings, the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, the Da Vinci Code and more recently that Ireland is the basis for Atlantis etc.
But such beliefs found on questionable websites and within easy to read books which have little or no supportive evidence and are easily disproven by reading more difficult books.
If people watch the various ancient alien programs broadcast on Sky, they’d quickly realize those making such claims describe themselves as “theorists”.
They’re telling you that it’s already been explained by science from research using provable evidence while what they claim is conjecture.
