NEVER mind our poor display in the World Cup, I didn’t expect us to do very well in the first place, but what’s gone wrong with our cricket team?

Two years ago we were one of the best teams in the world, but since then we have been annihilated by the Australians 5-0 in the Ashes, lost most of our one-day games and just recently lost to Sri Lanka at home, albeit only narrowly.

The form of our captain Alastair Cook must be taken into consideration.

When the captain is only averaging about 20 a game it doesn’t inspire the rest of the team.

This is what happens when you drop your best batsman, Kevin Pietersen, for reasons I still can’t understand. He is England’s most talented batsman by far.

So come on you selectors, get him back in the team. England needs him.
