POSTING my daughter-in-law’s 40th birthday card first class, giving two full working days for it to get from Darlington to Newton Aycliffe, I was very upset to find it had not arrived three days later.

I went to the post office to ask about first class and was told there was no guarantee on next day delivery unless it was registered - a service costing more than £6. I could have a complaints form once it was 14 days late.

Over a week later, still no card. I will not be using first class again.
