IF the BBC wishes to know why it is under fire for its scheduling it should stop to consider its Wimbledon coverage.
We all know that Wimbledon is a top international tournament.
So is the World Cup.
But if we look at how ITV covers the World Cup if I don’t want to watch a match I can switch over to one of the other ITV channels which are showing something different.
Sadly, with the BBC if you don’t like tennis it’s tough – because both BBC 1 and BBC 2 are showing coverage at the same time.
On Thursday, live coverage of Wimbledon began on BBC 1 at 1.45pm and continued until 4.30pm.
Over on BBC 2 the coverage started at 11.30am and ran non-stop all way to 9pm – and it’s not even the second week.
Time for a change.
