DRIVING down Croft Road, in Hurworth, near Darlington, I encountered a lone cyclist.
A mature man, he was in full cycling garb and wearing a helmet etc.
Indicating to overtake, I pulled out. I soon realised he was gathering speed, and in order to complete my manoeuvre increased mine to approximately 37mph.
When safely past I adjusted my speed back to 30mph.
As I turned into Roundhill Road, the cyclist yelled, “what’s your problem?”
I replied “30mph.”
The response was very Anglo- Saxon.
Do cyclists have a higher speed limit than motorists? The abusive cyclist zoomed off in the direction of Neasham at a great rate of knots, leaving one very upset motorist behind him. What a rotter.
