DURHAM Constabulary have found itself with a problem. The radio mast at its current headquarters is a protected structure and must not be destroyed. It may have to pay out up to £400,000 to have it dismantled and rebuilt at a new headquarter site (Echo, Feb 26).
When this is done I suggest the structure be renamed as Barton’s Needle to reflect the chief constable’s public stance on drug use.
