WHY didn’t David Bowie turn up to collect his Brit award in London? Was he ill?

Maybe he wasn’t in this country. Perhaps he was still in New York. Sadly, no one told us on the night and there wasn’t even a recording of him saying thank you. He asked Kate Moss, a model, to do it for him.

That, to me, feels rather disrespectful of the fans who voted for him.

I’ve always found Bowie a bit weird, but he was a great performer and sang some brilliant songs back in his heyday. I thought he was retired, until he made a hit single and followed it up with a new album last year – his first for about ten years.

Regardless, I think he could have turned up to collect his gong. I, along with many others, was disappointed by his no-show.
