THE letter by G Bulmer (HAS, Feb 18) has been written without regard to facts or evidence.

He condemns the Liberal Democrats who are in power because the electorate in 2010 had no confidence in the Conservatives or Labour to lead the country alone.

And what a success this has been.

The wretched national deficit is being reduced. Borrowing is being kept at an all-time low.

Employment is at a record high.

Even the stock market is buoyant.

We have all had to suffer under recent austerity but let’s hope it will be worth it in the long run.

More than 75 per cent of the Liberal Democrat’s 2010 manifesto has been implemented. Nick Clegg and his MPs have tempered the extreme Conservative policies.

The country is getting back on its feet and it’s all credit to Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats.
