I WAS reading last Friday’s comment on Scotland and keeping the pound (or not).
I was enjoying it until I reached the part which read: “It would not want to be under the yolk of Treasury officials in foreign London.”
I had visions of Messrs Osborne, Balls and Alexander with a box of eggs, heading for Holyrood.
I sincerely hope not.

- Apologies to any other eagleeyed readers who spotted our mistake. A yolk is the yellow part of an egg. The noun yoke refers to servitude.
