RECENT proposals concerning banning smoking when children are passengers in cars (Echo, Jan 29) has caused a widespread debate.

It’s not hard – smoking kills, so why would any decent parent expose precious children to such risk?

Enforcement of a ban should not worry many. On long journeys we play a game counting how many drivers are using a phone.

With recent cuts we now play spot-the-police-officer.

Unfortunately, we normally arrive at our destination before we see one.
