I WENT to Age UK Darlington for a bite of canny nosh last week.
One of my pals, Alby, was crying in his beer as if somebody had supped his pint.
However, Alby’s lament was that he had put a new pink tie on and had just spilled some lovely gravy down the front. Alby is a young Cockney song and dance man who could show Del Boy a trick or two. Age UK Darlington put on a 1940s tea dance every month. They have some lovely young dancers who put on the clothes of the 40s and remind us what we were doing before they were a gleam in their dad’s eye.
They bring back memories and the spark of life that we are not dead yet.
