I WOULD just like to congratulate Mike McGrother, from the Wildcats of Kilkenny, and friends for really lifting my spirits on Friday, May 24.

I have been grumbling about the state of Stockton High Street for years.

The town really seemed to be struggling. Then for an hour I was really proud of the people of Stockton who battled against the cold and the wind to give us heart warming performances (Echo, May 25).

There are obviously some people who have not given up on Stockton and are trying to make things happen.

They now have my support.

Good luck to them all .
