TEESSIDE Airport station was only used by many people when there were air shows because it is not conveniently placed for passengers (Echo, May 6).

However, when it comes to accessibility by road, I don’t think you can fault Durham Tees Valley Airport.

What people want from the airport’s owner, the Peel Group, is more flights to holiday destinations and the airport upgrading to a better standard.

Now Darlington Borough Council has given permission to allow the main airport car park to be used for the storage of 300 caravans and mobile homes, I feel there is no future for the airport, especially if the Peel Group doesn’t invest.

The people in our region have been conditioned into using Newcastle or Leeds Bradford airports.
