I WAS shocked to discover Nature’s World, in Middlesbrough, had closed (Echo, Jan 6).
I am told that due to lack of funding the haven has had to be closed and it will now be left to rot after years of progression.
I was a member until its premature closure and have many fond memories of what is one of the last remaining natural havens left in Middlebrough.
This reckless vandalism of natural beauty can only be to the detriment of future generations.
Nature’s World was a celebration of what is good about Middlesbrough and its history. It was a fantastic day out for school children, families and all walks of life.
What else is left in Middlesbrough of natural beauty? I wonder if the site will now be turned into a housing development.
Lily Zaher, Middlesbrough.
