I AM totally confused by some of the decisions made by the Government.
On one hand, some NHS hospitals are so much in debt they may have to close.
Then, a few days later, the Government announces it is planning to spend £350m on plans to design the next generation of nuclear submarines.
That cost is just for plans.
The building of these new submarines will cost billions of pounds.
Do we really need a fleet of nuclear submarines?
Considering Britain is just a small island surely the money earmarked for a new independent nuclear deterrent would be better spent improving people’s living standards or going towards providing free and better education?
