THERE is a great deal more police work to be done on the English language. It will not do, for instance, for people in public life and authority – including former Home Secretary Jack Straw – to say that some Pakistani men are “in denial” about their grooming of young white girls for sex as Mr Straw did last week following the publication of a report into the Rochdale scandal.

They are not in denial, Mr Straw: they are lying.

And it will not do either to speak of “grooming” in this context. Grooming is something that is done to horses, not to young girls. Instead of “grooming,” therefore, let us say cruelty, callousness and child abuse.

Mr Straw says that this abuse, in such as Heywood and Rochdale, “is a dilemma which has to be addressed”. No, it isn’t. It is an evil which has to be stamped out and its perpetrators identified and severely punished.

He added: “There is an issue of ethnicity here which can’t be ignored. In terms of group grooming there is an ethnic dimension which is typically of Asian men on white girls.”

Let me translate this into English for you.

That last sentence really means: “Most of the men committing these evils are Pakistani Muslims.”

Now, before I am hauled up before some Court for the Preservation of Political-Correctness, let me add the usual disclaimers. I am not claiming that all Pakistani Muslim men are wicked child abusers. I am claiming only what everyone knows from the official reports: that nearly all the abusers identified are Pakistani Muslims. And, of course, the Koran does not say that Muslim men may be allowed to molest and sexually abuse non- Muslim girls.

What has to be faced, but won’t be for the reason of political-correctness is that there is an aspect of Islamic culture which says (or at least behaves as if there is) one code of conduct which applies to the way Muslims treat one another and another, but quite different, code of conduct (or rather misconduct) which applies to the way Muslims are permitted to treat non-Muslims.

It is further reported that Mr Straw’s comments have angered sections of the Muslim community in his constituency. I bet they have – because they know in their heart of hearts that Mr Straw is speaking the truth.

In any case, it is destructive to speak of the Muslim community. The only community in is the community. Let us have a little more policing of the English language, shall we – the word “community” here really refers to “a section”, a “sect” or, at worst a “ghetto” within the community which can be, as I said, nothing other than the whole population of regardless of race, colour or creed.

Much of the blame for these appalling acts of child abuse must be laid at the door of the police and the social services. These agencies and institutions are driven into a cowering impotence and unwillingness to act in case they are accused of racism This is the biggest social problem Britain faces today and it amounts to the inversion of all values.

Or in plain English: it is a scandalous case of one law for one section of the community and another law for another.

If not promptly corrected this issue will destroy whatever is left of the unity of our nation.
