ON New Year’s Day 2013, US blues singer-songwriter BB King took to the stage of the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando.
Surrounded by his band, the music legend gave a performance that left the packed-out venue beaming.
For a guitarist to keep an audience in the palm of their hand in their 40s is impressive.
At twice that age, it is extraordinary, and BB shows little sign of settling for an easy life a year on.
In BB King – The Life Of Riley, the 88- year-old reflects on his rags-to-riches story, from the cotton plantations of Mississippi to become “King of the Blues”.
The programme features contributions from among others Eric Clapton, Bono (who he worked with on 1988 tour and film Rattle and Hum), George Benson and Mick Hucknall.
