IT’S a good night for Britpop fans, as 1990s drama My Mad Fat Diary returns, and The Culture Show profiles Damon Albarn.
As Blur’s frontman, he spent much of the 1990s as an indie pin-up, but he has also been one of the men behind the band Gorillaz, worked with African performers on the Mali Music project, joined a supergroup for the Good, the Bad and the Queen, and even composed a couple of operas.
But the one thing he hasn’t done is release an official solo album – until now.
With no cartoons, aliases or band mates to hide behind, Albarn talks about his new album, Everyday Robots, and opens up about his childhood, visiting some of the places that mean the most to him and explaining how they have influenced his work.
