IN terms of cheap, successful TV, Come Dine with Me has long been a recipe for success, partly thanks to sarcastic voiceover-guy Dave Lamb, whose perfectly timed jokes help puncture the ego of many a selfassured diner.
One of the great things about the show is the fact the diners are everyday folks, some of whom deserve to be stars in their own right. However, the entertainment factor is taken to a different level when celebrities are involved, and given the time of year, there’s a festive special.
It features Made in Chelsea’s Hugo Taylor, actress Danniella Westbrook, eccentric choreographer Louie Spence and singer Sinitta.
As the first dinner party gets under way, Louie and Sinitta both vie for Hugo’s attention, while Danniella throws a panto party, and Sinitta serves up a menu of food that may actually be inedible... well, we wouldn’t expect anything less.
