IT’S a big day for MasterChef. While The Professionals launches on BBC2, the youngsters’ culinary efforts are also put under the spotlight in Junior MasterChef.
While the crux of the competition stays the same, there are some changes, including a new judge.
Irish TV cook, food writer and photographer Donal Skehan joins remaining judge John Torode to present the second run of the Bafta-nominated series Not only has the young chef taught himself everything he knows – inspired by a family of keen food enthusiasts – but his talents have even led to him being referred to as Ireland’s answer to Jamie Oliver.
Not bad going at all for someone who began his career by the simple method of online blogging.
As the competition gets under way, viewers are introduced to the young aspiring chefs who have been shortlisted from 2,000 hopefuls.
