THE threatened national strike by postal workers could begin a week tomorrow, according to union officials.

It is complete madness for an industry, struggling to survive in the face of revolutionary change, to be giving its customers reasons to find other ways to conduct their business.

The Royal Mail has told the Communication Workers’ Union that no modernisation changes will take place for the remainder of the year.

Common sense should therefore prevail, with constructive talks about the Royal Mail’s uncertain future replacing suicidal strikes.
