Dear Northern Echo,
Following the recent scandal over parking issues at the DL1 complex, it seems Darlington Borough Council are also culpable of similar practices.
It has transpired they are issuing fixed penalty notices to people parking in the area at the side of the church adjacent to St Hilda’s car park.
The mapping on the Darlington Borough Website clearly shows the area for civic enforcement for the car park and I understand notices have been issued to people parking outside this area adjacent to the church.
Another case of either the council trying to extort monies from people unaware of the regulations or their staff are not trained.
If this is the case they need to refund any monies back to those that have been incorrectly issued fixed penalty notices.
