RECENTLY Durham County Council cleaned the roadside gully drains on my estate, but would it not have been a better use of resources if this was done to the main roads such as the A167, A177 and many others, not just the main roads but B and C roads.
I am sure if this was done, there would not be as much standing water on the roads and they’d be less prone to flooding.
Travelling along the roads you will see that many of the drain covers have grass growing out of them, but also some even have trees!
In some places it is hard to make out where exactly the drains are.
Name supplied, Ferryhill.
