SO now even Friends is in trouble. Shows how much the world has changed since the 1990s. What we thought of as a sharp and funny commentary on life as twenty something New Yorkers is now apparently consider to be fattist, sexist, homophobic, transgenderist and any other accusation our supersensitive critics can throw at it.
Thank Goodness they’ve never seen It Ain’t Half Hot, Mum… Other commentators have pointed out they should be really be more worried about the lack of black characters in New York.
I loved Friends – still do, it’s always on some channel somewhere when I’m doing the ironing - but my concerns were much more simple – however busy the coffee shop was, how did they ALWAYS manage to get the sofa ?
