Dear Sharon,
AS well as carrier bags, I wish we could do something about cans and bottles that cause dangerous litter everywhere.
When I was a girl things weren’t recycled, they were reused many times. We washed our milk bottles and put them outside for the milkman to take away and re-use. Now our milk comes in plastic bottles.
There was a 3d deposit on pop bottles and as kids we were always on the lookout for bottles to take back to the shop and add to our pocket money. You never saw bottles lying around for long.
