COLIN SHEVILLS, director of Balance, says the Government’s policy on alcohol is laughable (Echo, Feb 10).

I think the only thing laughable is this man’s constant whining on about drink.

Time after time, Mr Shevills rants on about cheap booze and all those poor young people who he wants to save from themselves.

He’s now beginning to sound like a broken record. The only solution this self-appointed bore has is to put up the price of alcohol. Everyone else knows it won’t work, but Mr Shevills has no other ideas and it’s now perfectly obvious.

He wants to forget about minimum pricing and, if he want to sound credible, he should instead use all that hot air of his and ask the Prime Minister to consider restoring the age of legal entitlement to consume alcohol back to 21.
