Exciting plans for a new Tesco store and Cooplands bakery have been submitted, with hopes they could create up to 30 new jobs.

Two new units will be erected if the plans are agreed by Sunderland City Council.
A 4,000sq ft unit would house a new Tesco store and an adjacent 1,200sq ft unit would become home to a Cooplands bakery.
Once complete the development is expected to create 20-30 jobs.
George Jenkins, Managing Director of Modo Bloc, the Newcastle-based developer behind the plans said: “This is a small but exciting commercial development that has attracted two high quality retail tenants. It’s a perfect roadside location where demand will be high.”

Modo Bloc’s director Ollie Stapleton added: “We are pleased to have an opportunity to breathe life and energy back into the location, helping to regenerate this part of Southwick.”
The plans come from the same developer behind plans for 22 industrial units on brownfield area on the Cowpen Lane Industrial Estate in Billingham.
