Updates to listed building works to be done to a tattoo studio within two of Darlington's historic yards have been submitted to Darlington Borough Council.
Ongoing works include render repairs, repainting, installation of replacement lighting to entrance archways, Installation of lighting anchor points, affixing of wrought iron trellis work and replacement front door to "Life and Luck" Tattoo studio, within Bucktons Yard And Clarks Yard
An update from a heritage consultant on behalf of the applicant reads: "Render has been removed from the undercroft areas of wall in Bucktons Yard and Clarks Yard.
As discussed on site this was as a result of various discussions in respect of the condition of the render and the misunderstanding that the render was to be removed in its entirety rather than the patch, as agreed as part of the previous method statement discharged under application 21/00579/CON.
Subsequent to this, the existing render was found to be in an unsalvageable condition and to be a mix of lime render and cement based render. Removal of the cement render is therefore of benefit to the future maintenance of the historic buildings."
