A ‘TASTE of Palestine’ is on offer to launch a friendship link between Teesside and the area.
The event, organised by Tom Robinson, Pete Widlinski and Jenny Medhurst, aims to raise awareness of the situation in Palestine and promote friendship and twinning links.
It will include a short documentary, a speech and a question and answer session by a Palestinian scholarship student studying at Durham University, the chance to taste local cuisine and a stall selling Fairtrade produce from Palestinian farmers.
Campaigner Tom Robinson, 19 from Acklam, said: “After visiting the country last year, I feel determined to push for justice and peace by raising awareness about the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
“This is an excellent opportunity to get a taste of Palestine and find out more about how we can foster understanding and friendships between residents of Teesside and Palestine.”
The event will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, March 4 at the North of England Refugee Service, 49 Grange Road, Middlesbrough.
It is free, although donations are welcome and all are welcome to attend.
