A crime talk entitled ‘Jack the Ripper: A 21st Century Investigation’ is being held for people aged 16 years and over as part of Middlesbrough Literary Festival at 7pm on Monday, June 24, at Middlesbrough Central Library costing £2. Tickets can be bought in advance from any branch library in the town.
CARL ANDRE: The first in a series of four talks about artists whose work is exhibited at Mima gallery of modern art in Middlesbrough starts by looking at Carl Andre. Dr Gail-Nina Anderson will be hosting ‘Four Modern Viewpoints: Carl Andre’ on Saturday, June 22, from 2pm to 3pm, at the gallery. Tickets cost £3 per talk or £10 for all four which can be booked by calling 01642-726722.
SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY: Newcomen Primary School in Redcar is celebrating its 60th anniversary on Friday, June 14, which will be hosted by Wildcats of Kilkenny frontman, Mike McGrother. Around 800 people are expected to attend the event which will feature live music, magic acts and a barbecue.
