HUNDREDS of runners took advantage of the sunny weather when they raced in the Middlesbrough College Riverside Run.
More than 1,800 people took part in the event, which started and finished in the Riverside Stadium, this morning (Sunday).
As well as the 5k race there was a 2k fun run which also attracted hundreds of competitors.
New Marske Harrier Dominic Shaw led all the runners home when he won the race in the stadium of his beloved Middlesbrough in a record time of 14mins 43seconds.
Comedian Patrick Monaghan and Olympian Johanna Jackson, who has taken part in two Olympics, two World Championships and won gold at the last Commonwealth Games in race walking, were among the runners tackling the course.
Organised by Middlesbrough Council and sponsored by Middlesbrough College, the 5k also attracted entries from former Boro stars Bernie Slaven, Mark Proctor and Neil Maddison.
