A TEN-week course to boost the confidence and job prospects of young people living in the Redcar and Cleveland area gets under way later this month.
EVOLVE is aimed at young people aged 16 to 19 who are currently not in work, education or training.
There is a taster session of the course, which is run by Cleveland Fire Brigade on behalf of Redcar and Cleveland Council, at Redcar Fire Station on Wednesday (June 5) between 1.30pm and 4pm.
Abby Burton, youth development co-ordinator with the Brigade, said: “This will be the second time we have run this course and we have received excellent feedback from the young people who are part-way through the first course.
“The course is designed to ease people into employment and is followed up with one-to-one coaching on completion, to support young people to search for jobs and apply and prepare for work effectively.
“I urge young people who are eligible to come along to the taster day to find out more about the course and how it could help them kick-start their lives to a brighter future.”
Young people need to devote between two and three days a week over the ten-week course period.
There is no need to book, but more information can be obtained by contacting Abby Burton on 01642-777651.
The ten-week course starts on June 18.
